The damage to agriculture caused by the recent heavy rains and floods that hit Negros Occidental slightly increased to P149.7 million on Friday.
Famers insured under the Philippine Crop Insurance Corp. will be compensated for the loss of their crops, Diaz said.
Damage to crops was P146,184,459, fisheries – P1,781,361, and livestock – P1,772,925, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council reported Friday.

Meanwhile, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson led the distribution of P2, 000 each in assistance to 276 farmers affected by the El Niño dry spell in Bago City on Friday.
The total amount distributed was P552,000 from the provincial government, Diaz said.
The provincial government has allocated P15 million in aid to El Niño affected farmers, Diaz said, adding that about 75 percent has already been distributed.*
