About P7M in shabu seized in Dumaguete, other areas

The drug-bust at Sitio Canday-ong, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, on Tuesday, February 7.*

Drug enforcement officers arrested a plea bargainer and confiscated about 1 kilo of suspected shabu worth P6.9 million during a buy-bust operation at Sitio Canday-ong, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, 10:50 p.m. Tuesday, February 7.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 7 (PDEA) identified the jobless suspect as Fernando Saraga, 54.

Operatives of the PDEA 7 Regional Special Enforcement Team, PDEA Negros Oriental Provincial Office, and Dumaguete City Drug Enforcement Unit confiscated four packs of suspected shabu weighing about a kilo, the buy-bust money, a mobile phone, and other non-drug evidence.

The drug evidence have been submitted for chemical analysis, the PDEA said.

A case for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect, the PDEA said.

In Negros Occidental Marc Nel Diaz, 33, of Purok Bag-ong Dalan, Brgy Tabigue, EB Magalona, was arrested with about 6 grams of suspected shabu estimated at P40,600 at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, the police said.

Junk shop owner Romeo Paron Jr., 50, was also arrested in the act of allegedly selling shabu to a policeman at JM Basa corner San Agustin Street, Brgy II (Pob), La Carlota City, at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Suspected shabu confiscated from him was estimated at 10 grams valued at P60,800, the police said.*
