About 200 United Negros Alliance members are expected to join their general assembly at Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City on Saturday, Sept. 7, Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante, UNegA secretary general, said on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
The UNegA members will discuss party matters and their lineup for the May 2025 polls.
Meanwhile, the Cadiz mayor said he, Manapla Mayor Manuel Escalante III and Toboso Mayor Madonnah Jaojoco were also supposed to take their oaths as members of Lakas CMD on Wednesday, Sept. 4, but it was postponed because of inclement weather.
The new date for the oathtaking has not been set, he said.
Councilors and vice mayors from Negros are also joining the Lakas CMD, he said.*
