About 140 more regular and job order employees of the San Carlos City government in Negros Occidental underwent drug tests Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 27 and 28.

The results are expected to be released on Friday, Joe Recalex Alingasa Jr., head of the San Carlos City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, said Thursday.

“This initiative aims to ensure a drug-free workplace and promote the well-being and safety of both employees and the community they serve,” a San Carlos City government statement said.

At least 70 San Carlos City Hospital employees were randomly drug-tested by the San Carlos City Anti-Drug Abuse Council Thursday afternoon.

Seventy other city government employees were also tested on Wednesday.

The employees tested were from the Cooperatives and Livelihood Development Office, Public Employment Service Office, Bantay Dagat under the Coastal Resource Management Division, and San Carlos City Youth Affairs.*
