‘Abducted’ Bacolodnon found dead hours later

A tricycle driver from Bacolod City, who was allegedly abducted Tuesday night, February 8, was found dead in EB Magalona town, Negros Occidental eight hours later.

The victim was identified as Julius Dumip-ig, 33, of Barangay 35, Bacolod City.

He was driving his tricycle with his live-in partner when the two unidentified suspects flagged them down to get a ride.

The passengers allegedly instructed the victim to bring them to Barangay 13, where Dumip-ig was forcibly taken to a white van.

The victim’s live-in partner was able to escape.

Eight hours later, at past 5 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, the victim’s body was found in a sack at Barangay Tabigue, EB Magalona.

The victim had a gunshot wound on his buttocks.

Police Maj. Ramel Sarona, Bacolod Police Station 1 chief, said they are still investigating the case, as the statement of the victim’s partner is not clear.

They are also digging into the background of the victim.*
