
The police arrested the ninth most wanted person on the provincial level in Bacolod City on Monday afternoon, Feb. 2.
The suspect, identified only as “Toto,” 40, married, and a laborer from Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, was arrested at around 3:30 p.m. at the Bacolod Arts and Youth Sports Center at San Juan Street, Barangay 10.
Police said the arrest was carried out by Negros Occidental Maritime Police Station personnel who served a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 56 judge in Himamaylan City on Jan. 28.
The suspect is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which involves the possession of drug paraphernalia.
Authorities said the operation underscores ongoing efforts to locate and arrest individuals with standing warrants across the province.
The arrested suspect is currently detained at the CIDG City Field Unit detention facility in Bacolod City pending turnover to the court of origin for proper disposition, the police said.*
