Nine individuals were injured in two separate road crashes in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, on Easter Sunday, April 5.
Seven passengers were hurt after a truck overturned along a descending road in Brgy. Camindangan.
Police said the Nissan Eagle truck lost its brakes, causing the driver to lose control and the vehicle to overturn.
Out of 19 passengers onboard, seven sustained minor injuries while 12 others were unharmed.
All injured victims were taken to a medical facility and are now in stable condition.
In a separate incident, two drivers were injured after a bicycle collided with a motorcycle in Brgy. Mambaroto.
Investigation showed the bicycle lost control while going downhill and encroached into the opposite lane, hitting the oncoming motorcycle.
Both drivers sustained injuries, with the cyclist suffering head injuries and later referred to a hospital in Bacolod City.
Authorities said the vehicles involved were taken into custody as investigation continues.*
