The Negros Occidental provincial government will resume its community kitchen feeding program on Monday, July 21, for approximately 2,000 residents displaced by the ongoing unrest at Kanlaon Volcano.
The “sixth wave” feeding program will run for 30 day at nine evacuation centers, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said Friday, July 18.
Seven community kitchens will be located in La Castellana, with one each in La Carlota City and Bago City, he said.
The initiative will be funded by the remaining portion of the P50 million allocation provided by the Office of the President.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said that the budget for feeding the 2,000 residents for 30 days is P5.8 million.*
