69th Philsutech confab set in Cebu on Aug. 22-25

The 69th Annual National Convention of the Philippine Sugar Technologists Association (Philsutech) will be held at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu City, August 22-25.

This year’s convention, which theme is “Gearing Towards a Competitive Sugarcane Industry to Adapt the Changing Global Situation”, is expected to be attended by 1,000 delegates from the Philippines and other sugar-producing countries.

During the convention, top national government executives, policy makers and experts in various fields will provide updates and share their ideas on issues affecting the sugarcane industry, a press release from Philsutech said Tuesday, May 23.

The Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) will also deliver its national sugar production and consumption report for the current crop year, as well as projections for the industry for the coming crop year.

The first day of the convention on August 22 tees off with a friendly golf tournament at the Cebu Country Club and product exhibit opening in the afternoon.

The formal opening of the convention will be on August 23, while the report of the Sugar Regulatory Administration will de delivered on August 24. On the final day of the convention, August 25 ,Philsutech will hold its Annual General Membership Assembly, where members will elect the new set of Philsutech officers.
