
The Department of Social Welfare and Development Negros Island Region (DSWD NIR) has distributed ₱421,987,241 to 69,500 typhoon victims in Negros as of Saturday, Feb. 28.
The massive financial injection under the Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) program is designed to provide immediate relief to families reeling from the impact of Typhoon Tino in November 2025, the DSWD NIR said.
Since the rollout began on February 12, the agency has served beneficiaries in Hinigaran, Isabela, La Castellana, San Enrique, Himamaylan City and La Carlota City in Negros Occidental, and Canlaon City in Negros Oriental.
Hinigaran received the largest share of support, with ₱138,933,200 released to its 22,972 beneficiaries.
This was followed by Isabela, where ₱94,327,135 was provided to 14,207 residents, and La Carlota City, which saw ₱92,201,837 disbursed among 15,097 affected individuals.
La Castellana received ₱32,541,509 for 6,061 beneficiaries, while the Himamaylan City saw a payout of ₱26,710,775 for 4,975 residents.
In San Enrique, ₱21,091,910.00 was distributed to 3,586 individuals, and Canlaon City received ₱16,180,875. for 2,602 beneficiaries.
The DSWD NIR said the ECT payouts are ongoing.*
