67 wanted persons arrested, P2.1M shabu seized in weeklong PRO-NIR operations

Sixty-seven wanted persons were arrested while more than P2.1 million worth of suspected shabu was seized in police operations across the Negros Island Region from Aug. 31 to Sept. 6.

Based on the weekly accomplishment report of the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region, police conducted 35 anti-illegal drug operations that resulted in the arrest of 35 individuals.

Authorities confiscated approximately 309.50 grams of suspected shabu with a reported standard drug price of P2,104,600.

In operations against wanted persons, police arrested 18 individuals classified as most wanted persons and 49 other wanted persons, or a total of 67.

PRO-NIR also conducted 23 operations against illegal gambling, resulting in 76 arrests and the confiscation of P17,595 in alleged gambling proceeds.

Meanwhile, 39 firearms were accounted for during 38 operations against loose firearms, including 12 confiscated and 27 surrendered firearms.

The regional police also reported 15,014 violators during the enforcement of local ordinances.

Of these, 4,879 were fined and 10,118 were warned.

The two figures, however, total 14,997, or 17 fewer than the 15,014 violators reported by PRO-NIR.
