Negros Electric and Power. Corp. was aiming to restore power to all of its feeders by Friday, Nov. 7, but the full restoration of electricity to all households in its coverage area may take until next week, NEPC chief operating officer Bailey del Castillo said
Del Castillo said the extent of the Typhoon “Tino” damage to electric posts and power lines was massive and they need all the help they can get to complete the work.
As of 5 p.m. Friday the total energized households in the NEPC coverage area was 66.7 percent.
They aim to energize 90 percent by the weekend, del Castillo said.
Del Castillo said they are thankful for the help of Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya and the barangays who have formed teams to help them in the clearing of toppled trees so that electrical connections can be undertaken.
Augmentation teams from power cooperatives in other parts of the country are also arriving to assist them in their restoration work.
“We need all the help we can get,” he said.*
