All 64 individuals tested in a joint search and seizure operation at the Tanjay District Jail yielded negative results, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported on Tuesday, Sept. 9
The operation was conducted on Monday, Sept. 8, by the PDEA Negros Oriental Provincial Office, together with PDEA NIR personnel and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
Thirty-six BJMP personnel and 28 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) underwent random drug testing.
No illegal drugs were also during the inspection.
PDEA said the results highlight the importance of inter-agency cooperation in keeping detention facilities free from illegal drugs.*
