Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said on Friday, January 19, that he has signed agreements for the construction of Yuhum Residences in barangays Banago and Estefania in Bacolod City involving about 6,000 additional housing units.

Benitez said he signed the agreements with Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) for the condominium-type housing units under the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

He expects construction to start next month, Benitez said.

The Yuhum Residences-Banago will be located on a 3.5 hectare property in Purok Bayanihan, Barangay Banago, with 3,627 units, the agreement signed Thursday states.

Meanwhile, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s turnover of 296 condominium units at the Yuhum Residences in Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod, has been reset to mid-February, Benitez said.

It could be on February 14 during the anniversary of DHSUD, he said.

The Office of the President wants four buildings to be completed when the president arrives, the mayor said.

The four condominium buildings will be ready by mid-February, the mayor said.*
