Fifty-nine former Bacolod City Water District (BACIWA) employees are seeking the payment of their back wages and other benefits amounting to P123,573,725.36.
Leny Rojo-Espina, president of the BACIWA Employees Union, said during a press conference on Tuesday, March 17, that they have filed a Motion for Execution based on the Compromise Agreement signed and notarized between BEU-National Federation of Labor Unions, representing the employees, and BACIWA on Jan. 30, 2026, before the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
The motion filed before the CSC seeks the enforcement of compromise agreement that grants the multi-million peso payment.
Espina said the CSC previously ruled that the employees were illegally terminated, establishing their legal entitlement to back wages.
The Compromise Agreement specifically states that BACIWA was scheduled to pay the complainants an aggregate amount of P123,573,725.36, consisting of back wages and other benefits, on or before Jan. 30, 2026, she said.*
