51-centavo per kWh drop in NONECO rates, too

The Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative (NONECO) announced a 61-centavo per kilowatt-hour decrease in its electricity rates in June.

Its electricity rate for June is P11.4110/kWh, which is P0.6152 lower compared to May’s P12.0262/kWh, NONECO announced Tuesday, June 17.

The electric cooperative attributed the decrease to the reduced cost of power purchased from suppliers, with the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) price down by P0.9874/kWh leading to a drop in the generational charge at P5.8665/kWh.

Transmission and systems loss charges also decreased in June by P0.1561/kWh.

NOCECO also said that fluctuating pass-on rates and power consumption are key factors in a consumer’s electricity bill and urged everyone to remain mindful of their electricity usage.

“This current rate decrease reflects the natural fluctuations in power generation and transmission costs. We will continue to closely monitor these factors to ensure the most cost-effective service possible”, NOCECO added.

The Negros Power and Electric Corp. also announced on Monday that its electricity rates are down by 55 centavos per kilowatt-hour (kWh) this June.

Residential consumers will pay ₱11.14 per kWh, a drop from ₱11.69 per kWh last month, Negros Power said.*
