Five restaurants owned by Negrenses were recognized by the Michelin Guide at a ceremony held at the Marriott Hotel Manila on Thursday night, Oct. 30.
Sarsa of JP Anglo made it to the Bib Gourmand list, which features restaurants offering excellent food at good value.
The other four restaurants made to the Michelin Selected list.
They are Aida’s Chicken, Antonio’s of Tonyboy Escalante, and Steak & Frice and Lusso of Amado Fores, son of the late Gaita Fores.
The Michelin Selected designation is given to restaurants that meet Michelin’s high standards for quality, service, and consistency, indicating inspectors found them worth visiting.
Bacolod Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez congratulated Aida’s Chicken in a Facebook post for its Michelin Selected recognition.
“This honor celebrates not only the superbly smoky Bacolod-style chicken inasal, but also their dedication to showcasing authentic Filipino flavors with quality, consistency, and heart”, he said.
He added that this recognition places Aida’s Chicken among a world-class roster and shines a spotlight on Bacolod’s rich culinary heritage.
“Their achievement is a proud moment for our local food culture, proving once again that Filipino cuisine can stand out on the global stage,” Benitez said.*
