
The police arrested the fourth most wanted person in Negros Oriental during a joint operation in Brgy. Looc, Dumaguete City, Friday night, Sept. 26.
The suspect was served with a warrant of arrest for two counts of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (Republic Act 9165), specifically Section 5 (for the illegal sale or trading of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (for the illegal possession of dangerous drugs).
Section 5 is non-bailable, while Section 11 carries a recommended bail of P200,000.
The arrest was carried out by elements of the Provincial Intelligence Unit and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, together with Dumaguete City Police Station, under Oplan Tracker.
The police identified the cases as Criminal Case Nos. 2016-23815 and 2016-23816, with the warrants of arrest issued by Judge Chloe Hope Trinidad-Abastillas of RTC Branch 30, Dumaguete City.
Authorities said the accused was informed of his charges, constitutional rights, and the anti-torture provisions in a language he understood.*
