49,000 doses of vaccines vs. Covid arriving Thursday

Bacolod City will receive 49,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines Thursday, September 9, Dr. Chris Sorongon, Emergency Operations Center deputy for medical data and analysis, said Wednesday.

He said 40,000 Sinovac and 9,000 Pfizer doses are arriving.

The city government will hold a special vaccination for seniors on Grandparents Day on September 12, and a Buntis Day vaccination drive on September 22 and 30.

Bacolod City had 86 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths on Wednesday, the Department of Health said.

The city has 1,087 active COVID-19 cases, it added.

Sorongon stressed the need for people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 for their protection.*
