The construction of 4,560 more housing units under Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program at barangays Estefania and Banago will start next, Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said Tuesday, Nov. 14.
There will be 3,120 housing units that will be constructed in Barangay Banago and 1,440 in Barangay Felisa.
Meanwhile, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development and the Bacolod City government are set to turnover the first 288 units at the Yuhum Residences in Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City, on December 20.
The first green lane route in Bacolod for electric public transportation is targeted to serve the needs of the Bacolodnons living at the Yuhum Residences in Vista Alegre, the mayor said.
Benitez said he is asking the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod to approve the new route.
The highlights of the Yuhum Housing Program are not just affordable subsidized housing units, but also the facilities that come with it, he said.
In the Yuhum villages buildings will be built only on 50 percent of the property while the rest will be open space, he said.
The villages will also include swimming pools, playgrounds, basketball courts, club houses and multipurpose gyms, Benitez said.
Benitez aims to build an initial 10,000 housing units for Bacolodnons without houses. “Definitely we will hit our target,” he said, after which another 10,000 will be built.*
