
Cash and livelihood assistance were given to four members of the New People’s Army who surrendered to the City Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, on Monday, Nov. 20, the Army reported.
The four members of NPA from Central Negros 2 surrendered to the CTF-ELCAC together with their high and low-powered firearms, the 303rd Infantry Brigade reported.
The surrender was formalized with a program at the Kabankalan City Hall together with Mayor Benjie Miranda and Lt. Col. Van Donald Almonte, 94th Infantry Battalion commander.
The surrenderees were given P20,000 cash assistance from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, P10,000 livelihood assistance from CTF-ELCAC, and seedlings from the Department of Agriculture.
The former rebels will also undergo profiling and assessment and custodial debriefing for them to officially avail of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) of the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, the Army said.*
