
Four people were injured in shooting and stabbing incidents in two towns and a city in Negros Occidental on Tuesday, June 24, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office reported.
Alias “Reynaldo”, 36, of Brgy. 10, Victorias City, and alias “Kempe”, 26, a barangay tanod and resident of Brgy. San Isidro, EB Magalona, were brought to a hospital after they were stabbed.
The victims were walking along the road from Malogo River in EB Magalona when the suspect identified as alias “Andong”, 33, of Brgy. San Isidro stabbed them without any provocation, the police said.
The victims who were brought to the Abelardo & Remedios Bantug Memorial Hospital in Victorias City and are now in stable condition, while the suspect is in police custody.
In Himamaylan City, alias “Anthony”, 20, was injured after he was shot by an unidentified person in Sitio San Juan, Brgy. Caradio-an.
Police investigation revealed that the Anthony and his friends had just attended a public dance and sat on a wooden bench at a store when an unidentified man shot the victim in the face.
The victim was brought to Gov. Valeriano Gatuslao Memorial Hospital but was later transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod.
A tricycle driver was also injured when he was shot by his fellow driver in Sitio Baog, Brgy. Mansablay, Isabela town.
Jose Piojo, 24, was injured after he was shot by Jesmar Cabrillos, 44, the police said.
The victim was driving his tricycle with his mother onboard when the suspect suddenly came out of a sugarcane field and shot him in the back, the police said.
The victim was brought to the Ignacio Arroyo Memorial District Hospital while the suspect was arrested in a pursuit operation and is now in police custody.*
