The heavy downpour in Negros Occidental on Wednesday afternoon, September 22, triggered floods in some areas of Cauayan town.
The floodwaters, which reached chest level in some areas, affected 92 families, or 357 individuals, in Brgy. Poblacion, and 34 families, or 149 individuals, in Barangay Man-uling, a report from Provincial Disaster Management Program Division showed.
The flooding also damaged 32 houses in Brgy. Poblacion, and destroyed one in Brgy. Man-uling and damaged another.
The local disaster team monitored the affected barangays, and conducted clearing operations.
Floodwaters in the affected areas subsided Wednesday evening.*
