A 3-year-old girl drowned after strong river current swept her away in Sitio Tikoy-Tikoy, Brgy. Cabacungan, La Castellana, Negros Occidental, on Friday, September 15.
The child was crossing the river to go back to her house when the incident happened.
A search and rescue operation was conducted and the child was found in Sitio Obay, also in Brgy. Cabacungan, a kilometer away from the area where she was swept away by the current.
The police said that there was no foul play involved in the incident.*
