Three men were arrested after allegedly attempting to steal a motorcycle in Brgy. 23, Bacolod City on Saturday night, Jan. 10.
The victim was identified as Junard Paul Bahibag, 28, a supervisor and resident of Purok Gahiliogyon while the suspects were Edmar Antonilla, 19, Ronel Villacampa, 25, and Reynaldo Atillano, 22, all residents of Brgy. Efigenio Lizares, Zone 16, Talisay City.
The incident happened at around 10:00 p.m. in Purok Gahiliogyon, Brgy. 23, and was reported to police at about 10:30 p.m.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim sought assistance from police officers conducting visibility patrols after discovering that his motorcycle was being stolen.
Police immediately conducted a hot pursuit operation together with the victim and were able to catch the suspects in the act of stealing the motorcycle.
The stolen Honda motorcycle was recovered from the possession and control of the suspects and was positively identified by the victim.
The suspects are currently detained while further investigation and case documentation are ongoing.
Police said the motive for the incident was personal gain.*
