3 shot dead in Negros, one on Valentine’s Day

Three persons died in shooting incidents in three Negros Occidental cities on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 13 and 14.

A 63-year-old farm overseer identified only as “Ricardo” was peppered with gunshots by two unidentified suspects in Hacienda San Isidro, Brgy. Bagtic, Silay City, on Valentine’s Day.

Ricardo, who was a resident of Brgy. Guimbala-on, brought his children to school at 6:20 a.m. and was headed home
when the incident happened, the police said.

The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds on the head and other parts of his body, the police said.

The police said alias “Ryan”, 28, was also shot dead by an unidentified suspect in front of his mother in Sitio Baptist, Brgy. Mahalang, Himamaylan City, on Thursday.

The victim was sitting beside his mother in front their house when the suspect approached and shot him, the police said.

In La Carlota City, alias “Lindo”, 32, a tricycle driver was also shot dead in front of his wife and child at Ginete Street, Brgy. II Poblacion, on Thursday.

Investigation revealed that the victim was driving his tricycle when he was shot by an unidentified suspect using a .45 caliber firearm.

The victim was brought to the hospital but was declared dead.*
