3 killed in accidents

Three people were killed in separate accidents in Negros Occidental in two days.

Killed at Lacson Street, Bacolod City, on June 24 was 48-year-old Quintina Seldora of Barangay Zone 2, Talisay City.

The victim, along with her husband Reynald Seldora, 46, was on board a motorcycle when they were hit by a Toyota Innova driven by David Palawar, 57, of Plantazionne North Point Ayala, Talisay City, the police report showed.

The couple was brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, but the wife succumbed to her injuries.

The vehicle driver was brought to the police station and will face charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, physical injury, and damage to property.

In a separate incident, motorcycle driver Florien Jane Casanova, 27, of Barangay 6-A, Victorias City was killed after she collided with a tricycle at Nanca Road in Barangay 19 in the locality on June 24.

The tricycle was driven by Kevin John Mana, 28, of Barangay 18, Victorias.

The victim suffered injuries on her face as a result of the collision. She was brought by the Victorias Alert Team at Kaayong Lawas Foundation Hospital Inc. but was declared dead on arrival.

On June 23, tricycle driver Llewelyn Datolayta, 56, of Barangay Maquiling, Sagay City, was killed in an accident at Barangay Lopez Jaena in the locality.

The sidewheel of the victim’s tricycle, which was loaded with a carabao, busted causing him to lose control and collide with a truck driven by Roger Vergara, 47, of Barangay Bato, Sagay.

The tricycle driver, along with his passenger, was brought to Alfredo Marañon Sr. District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The truck driver was brought to the police station.*
