Foul  weather and almost zero visibility has hampered rescue  operations.*

Three children were rescued while one was missing after drowning at Campomanes Bay in Brgy. Maricalum, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, on Sunday, Sept. 15.

Gian Henry Vicenco, 13, Raynold Medes, 18, Raven Medes, 15, were rescued while Gilbert Vicencio, 14, remained missing after they were carried by strong current at about 2 p.m. on Sunday, the Philippine Coast Guard- Southern Negros Occidental Station reported.

The victims were all grandchildren of Milenda Medes, 64, who reported the incident to authorities, the police said.

PCG-SNOS Acting Commander James Carbajosa told DIGICAST NEGROS that the four were jogging and decided to swim in the Bay despite foul weather.

A search and rescue operations were conducted by personnel of the PCG, Sipalay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and Sipalay City Police.

Carbajosa said because of bad weather and almost zero visibility at sea, they will resume the search and retrieval operation for Gilbert Vicencio when conditions improve.

They have been coordinating with nearby coastal communities, he added.*
