Three alleged members of the New People’s Army surrendered to the police in Brgy. Hacienda Fe, Escalante City, Negros Occidental, last week.
They are “Ka Kokoy”, “Ka Ashly” and “Ka Chan”, all former members of the NPA-Roselyn Pelle Command of the Northern Negros Front, the Police Regional Office-6 said in a press statement Thursday, January 11.
They surrendered to the Escalante City Police Station Tracker Team, Provincial Mobile Force Command, and NTF-ELCAC of the city on January 3.
PRO-6 said that the Escalante Local Government Unit is already processing all possible benefits for the three, including their enrollment in the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) and Project “Pag-Ulikid” wherein they will receive benefits from the local government.
Brig Gen. Sidney Villaflor, police regional director, said he is encouraging other rebels to surrender to the authorities, reintegrate into society, and live peaceful and happy lives with their families.*
