Negros Occidental Provincial Elections Supervisor Ian Lee Ananoria*

Negros Occidental will hopefully have  2 million voters in the May 2025 polls, Provincial Elections Supervisor Ian Lee Ananoria said on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

There were about 100,000 voters who were deactivate from the previous 2 million voters in the province, Ananoria said.

Ananoria said with the registration of new voters from January to September this year the total number of new voters will hopefully reach two million after the Election Registration Board hearings.

On the last day of voters registration on Monday, Sept. 30, Ananoria said said 6,510 registered in Negros Occidental, 3, 047 in Negros Occidental and 400 in Siquijor for a total of 9,957 in the Negros Island Region.

The next registration of voters will be after the May 2025 polls, Ananoria said.

He said so far there are no election hotspots in Negros Occidental, he said.

That will be known after the filing of Certificates of Candidacy ends on Oct. 8 when hotly contested areas will be identified.*
