The Philippine Genome Center has reported 21 new confirmed COVID-19 Omicron cases in Bacolod City but all those who were hit by it have already recovered, Dr. Chris Sorongon, Bacolod Emergency Operations Center deputy, said Sunday, February 13.
Hit by the Omicron variant were 11 males and 10 females between 23 to 50 years old, the report furnished the EOC Friday, February 11, showed.
They were swabbed for testing from January 5 to 18, he said.
The Omicron variant hit six residents in Barangay Villamonte and two in Barangay Estefania.
Barangays 40, 7, 35, 19, 20, 30, Alijis, Taculing, Mandalagan, Singcang, Granada, Tangub and Banago had one case each, Sorongon said.
There were also 21 Omicron cases detected in Bacolod City in late January.*
