The 2026 National Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) Games will be held in Bacolod City next year.
The event is expected to draw an estimated 12,000 athletes in May.
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson has pledged the province’s full support for the games.
He made this assurance during the First Regular Board Meeting of the PRISAA National Board of Trustees and Officers, held at STI West Negros University in Bacolod City on Friday, July 18.
Lacson said Negros Occidental will be a “strong and willing partner” in ensuring a successful national event and in nurturing the next generation of Filipino athletes.
He said “the 2026 Games will be a showcase not only of athletic excellence but also of the values that PRISAA stands for — teamwork, excellence, integrity, and national pride.”
Lacson also highlighted the significant role sports play in Filipino culture, serving as a unifying force that transcends various divides.
“You can count on the province’s committed collaboration to mobilize local support and create a sound environment for our student-athletes,” Lacson added.
The meeting saw the attendance of PRISAA national officers, including Chairman Fr. Vicente Uy, Vice Chairman Fr. Jessie Pasquin, and National President Dr. Ryan Mark Molina.
Molina also serves as the PRISAA-Negros Island Region (NIR) president and head of the 2026 host committee.
