
Around 2,000 policemen will be deployed by the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region for the Trillion Peso March 2.0 on Sunday, Nov. 30.
PRO-NIR said in a statement the deployment forms part of its full security and public safety plan for the activity.
The event is expected to draw participants from various sectors, advocacy groups, and youth organizations.
Police said they will respect the public’s right to peaceful assembly while ensuring order and safety.
The security plan includes crowd control operations, traffic management, emergency response, and monitoring of possible threats.
PRO-NIR said there are no major security concerns identified as of this time, but the region will be placed on heightened alert.
Regional director Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay said the police are prepared to ensure a safe and orderly conduct of the activity.
He urged participants to cooperate with authorities during the gathering.
Residents and motorists were advised to monitor official announcements and report suspicious activities.
