Two motorcycle riders were killed in vehicular accidents in La Carlota City and Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, on Thursday, Jan. 15.
In La Carlota City, the victim was identified as alias “JM,” 38, a resident of Brgy. Haguimit, while in Cadiz City the motorcycle driver remains unidentified, the police said.
The La Carlota incident happened at the highway in Brgy. Cubay.
The victim was driving a Honda Click motorcycle from Brgy. Haguimit toward the city proper when he lost control and fell into a canal.
He sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead.
In Cadiz City, police said the crash occurred at around 8:45 p.m. at the national road in Purok Ilku, Brgy. Caduha-an. I
A Toyota Hilux traveling from Cadiz City toward Silay City hit the rear of a Rusi Macho motorcycle, the police said.
The police said the motorcycle allegedly had no tail light, leading to the collision.
The impact caused the motorcycle driver and passenger to fall on the concrete pavement.
The motorcycle driver was declared dead on arrival at the Cadiz District Hospital, while the passenger sustained injuries and remains under medical treatment.
The police said the pickup truck driver and his passenger were not injured.*
