Four of six foreigners who went trekking in Mt. Talinis, Valencia, Negros Oriental, were still missing Friday afternoon, March 21, Lt. Stephen Polinar, spokesperson of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, said.

Only two of the four – German Torsten Martin Groschupp, 58, and British Alexander Radvanyl, 63, were found in the forest Friday morning.

The four who are still missing are Aldwin Fink, 60, and a certain Wolfgang, 67, – Germans, Anton Chernov, 38 – Russian, and a certain Terry – Canadian, the police said.

The Valencia police station on Monday morning posted the photos of the six missing foreigners with an appeal to the public who may have seen them to inform the authorities.

Polinar said the six foreigners left at 8 a.m. Wednesday , for a hike in Mt. Talinis with no provisions for an overnight stay, indicating that they had intended to return on the same day.

They entered through Sitio Lunas in Barangay Malabo, Valencia, and were headed for the Twin Lakes of Balinsasayao and Danao, Polinar said.

Radvanyl and Groschupp told authorities they got separated from their companions and were unable to seek help as there was no mobile phone signal in the area.

They reportedly did not hire a guide.

When they failed to return two wives of the foreigners reported them as missing, Polinar said.

The police found the motorcycles used by the foreigners prior to their hike, he said.

Malabo Barangay Captain Christian Sela said the two foreigners were found alive in in Sitio Lunas with the help of a drone, four kilometers from their point of entry.*
