Two persons were killed in separate shooting incidents in Negros Occidental on Friday, July 9.
Killed in Barangay Tapi, Kabankalan City, was laborer Manual Rafols, 56. He was not a drug personality.
Based on the police report, the victim was shot by two unidentified suspects at a remote area in the boundary of Kabankalan and Ilog.
Witnesses found the victim with gunshot wounds on his shoulder and stomach.
When the victim’s brother, Quirino Rafols, arrived he was able to tell him that his two assailants were relatives of a certain Nene.
He was brought to a hospital in Barangay Tabugon, but was declared dead on arrival.
In La Castellana town, 32-year-old Glenn Gilonga was shot to death at a national road in Brgy. Sag-ang.
The victim was on his way home on board a motorcycle when he was waylaid and shot by the suspect, the police said.
The victim sustained three gunshot wounds. He was brought to the Rural Health Unit but didn’t make it.
The police are still investigating the killing, adding that it is not a drug-related incident.*
