
Two Negrenses died in stabbing and hacking incidents in Calatrava and Ilog towns in Negros Occidental on Wednesday, April 1, the police reported.
In Calatrava, a 32-year-old man identified as alias “Wewin” was found dead with multiple stab wounds in Brgy. Laga-an.
Police said the victim was last seen leaving his house at around 10 p.m. on March 31 before he was allegedly waylaid by unidentified suspects.
He sustained multiple stab wounds and a fatal injury to the neck.
No witnesses have come forward and no weapon was recovered.
Authorities said the victim’s body was brought to a hospital for post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile in Ilog, a 53-year-old man died after he was hacked during a drinking session in Brgy. Tabu.
Investigation showed the victim and the suspect, identified as alias “Ram,” were drinking when an argument broke out.
The suspect allegedly attacked the victim, leaving him with multiple hack wounds.
The victim was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The suspect was arrested by barangay tanods and is now under police custody.*
