2 high-value drug suspects arrested, P408K worth of shabu seized in La Carlota

Two alleged high-value drug personalities were arrested while about P408,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized in a buy-bust operation in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, on June 15.

Arrested were aliases “Samuel,” 62, and “Rogelyn,” 48,  from Brgy. 2 , who were tagged as high-value drug personalities,   the  PDEA-NIR  reported Friday, June 19.

The operation was conducted at Purok Bucros, Brgy. 2 by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Negros Island Region Northern Occidental Provincial Office, together with the PDEA Special Enforcement Team, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office Drug Enforcement Unit, and the La Carlota City Police Station.

Authorities recovered five heat-sealed plastic sachets and one knot-tied plastic bag containing around 60 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P408,000.

Also seized were the buy-bust money, a black pouch, and P3,000 in cash in different denominations.

The suspects are facing charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, in relation to Section 26 of the same law.

The arrested individuals were placed under police custody pending the filing of charges.*
