2 die in road mishap after Dinagsa Festival

Two teenage cousins who were on their way home from the Dinagsa Festival in Cadiz City died when their motorcycle hit a parked truck at the Access Road in Hacienda Baga-as, Brgy. Efigenio Lizares, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, 8 p.m. Sunday, January 29.

Killed were motorcycle driver Nataniel Bendoy Conde, 18, and his passenger Alvin Pabela Bendoy, 19, both of Hacienda Mariano, Brgy. Bactic, Silay City.

Their motorcycle hit a parked Fuso Truck that was facing north. The driver of the truck was Elmar Tapalla, 28, of Brgy. Inapoy, Mabinay, Negros Oriental, the police report said.

The motorcycle was heading north when it hit the truck, and both the driver and passenger fell on the payment sustaining serious injuries as a result of the impact, the report said. They were declared dead on arrival at the Talisay City Health Center.

The cousins who had gone to the Dinagsa Festival passed by Barangay 12 in Talisay before heading home to Silay. They were reportedly advised not to leave as it was late and the roads were slippery as it was raining but they insisted on going home.*
