
Two people were killed while another was injured after a motorcycle carrying three riders crashed into a parked sugarcane truck at the national road in Brgy. Alangilanan, Manjuyod, Negros Oriental, early Monday morning, Feb. 2.
The Manjuyod police investigation showed that the motorcycle, driven by a man identified as “John Micheal,” was traveling toward Bais City with two back riders.
Police said the driver attempted to avoid an early warning device installed on the road but accidentally slammed into the rear of a parked cargo truck loaded with sugarcane.
The motorcycle driver and a 66-year-old back rider identified as “Benjamin” were declared dead at the Bais City Hospital.
The other back rider, identified as “Pedro,” sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Police are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.*
