2 BADAC-listed suspects arrested, P564,400 in ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod

Two persons on the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council watchlist were arrested and about 83 grams of suspected shabu worth P564,400 were seized in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Vista Alegre, Bacolod City, Oct. 14, police said.

The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region identified the suspects only as aliases “Ding,” 48, tagged as a high-value individual, and “Jess,” 33, classified as a street-level individual of Purok Progreso Village 1 in Brgy. Vista Alegre.

Police said the operation was conducted on Oct. 14 by the Bacolod City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit, with support from the City Intelligence Unit and Police Station 7.

The  police said  the operation stemmed from information that “Ding” was allegedly involved in the sale of illegal drugs in Purok Abada Escay and Purok Progreso Village 1.

Authorities conducted surveillance to validate the information and alleged that “Jess” served as a trusted downline of “Ding.”

Police also said both suspects had previously been arrested for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police recovered about 83 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P564,400, along with buy-bust money, cash believed to be proceeds of illegal drug transactions, and other evidence.

The suspects are detained at Police Station 7 while complaints for alleged violations of Sections 5 and 11 of RA 9165 are being prepared.*
