2 arrested, P442K in suspected shabu seized in Bacolod

Two men were arrested while about P442,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized in separate buy-bust operations in Bacolod City on Sunday night, Sept. 6.

The Bacolod City Police Office said the operations yielded a combined 65 grams of suspected shabu.

The larger seizure was recorded at around 11:24 p.m. in Purok Kagaykay, Brgy. 2, where personnel of the City Drug Enforcement Unit arrested alias “Debs,” 58.

Police classified the suspect as a high-value individual and a personality listed by the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council.

Authorities recovered 14 sachets containing approximately 60 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P408,000, along with the buy-bust money.

Earlier at around 10:15 p.m., Police Station 8 conducted another operation in Brgy. Tangub and arrested alias “Noy,” 42, an upholstery worker classified by police as a street-level individual.

Six sachets containing about five grams of suspected shabu valued at P34,000 were recovered, along with a coin pouch and buy-bust money.

Both suspects are under police custody and are facing charges for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
