Anti-drug operatives dismantled a suspected drug den in Bacolod City and arrested another drug suspect in Pontevedra, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday, Nov. 26.

The first operation was carried out in Progreso Village, Brgy. Vista Alegre, where three individuals identified only as “Pokloy,” “Inan,” and “Jay” were arrested.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–Negros Island Region, its Seaport Interdiction Unit, and Police Station 7 led the buy-bust that resulted in the shutdown of the alleged drug den.

Agents seized nine sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 11 grams.

They also recovered the buy-bust money, improvised tooters containing residue, lighters, tin foil, an improvised scooper, empty plastic sachets, an empty cigarette case, and a pair of scissors.

The three suspects are now detained while charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are being prepared.

Hours later, police in Pontevedra arrested another suspect identified as “Inggo,” 18, during a buy-bust at Hacienda Carmenchica in Barangay Don Salvador Benedicto.

Police said the suspect yielded around 25 grams of suspected shabu valued at approximately P170,000.

Operatives launched the operation after receiving information from a confidential agent that the suspect had been selling drugs in the area.

A meeting between the poseur buyer and the suspect led to the consummation of the transaction and the suspect’s arrest.

He remains in the custody of the Pontevedra Municipal Police Station pending the filing of charges.*
