Seventeen former rebels are now graduates of vocational courses offered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
The graduates received bakery equipment at a ceremony at the Guihulngan Satellite Skills Development Center in Barangay Poblacion, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental, on Jan 24.
The 17 former rebels underwent community-based and center-based training on bread and pastry making, and carpentry and received TESDA National Certificates II, the 62nd Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army reported.
The graduates received bakery equipment to start their own livelihoods, it said.
“This initiative equips the participants with practical skills that they can use to generate income and invest in their future,” BGen. Ted Dumosmog, 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, said.*
