14 motorists cited for violations in traffic law enforcement drive

At least 14 motorists were issued Temporary Operator’s Permits (TOPs) during a joint traffic law enforcement operation in Brgy. Poblacion, Siaton, Negros Oriental, on Sept. 3.

The checkpoint was conducted by the Regional Highway Patrol Unit–Negros Island Region (RHPU NIR) Special Operations Team, together with the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office and the Siaton Municipal Police Station.

Violations recorded among motorcycles included seven with no helmets, three with failure to carry OR/CR, two wearing slippers, one with defective tail light, and four with no driver’s license.

For motor vehicles, violations included one not wearing a seatbelt, one with worn-out tires, one with covered plate, one overloading, and one with no capacity markings.

Four motorcycles were also impounded.

RHPU-NIR said in a press release that the operation aims to restore order and discipline on highways, ensuring not only law enforcement but also safer roads for motorists.*
