
There were 13 dengue-related deaths recorded in Negros Occidental in 2025, the Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported on Thursday, Jan. 8.
Dr. Girlie Pinongan, Provincial Health Officer, said the report covers January 1 to December 27. They are still consolidating the final dengue report for 2025, she added.
Dengue cases in 2025 reached 5,349, which is 26.22 percent lower than the same period in 2024.
Bago City recorded the highest number of dengue cases with 1,140 cases and one death. La Carlota City followed with 479 cases, Kabankalan with 478, San Carlos City with 295, and Isabela with 257.
Among the reported cases, the 1-to-10 age group was the most affected by dengue, the PHO said.*
