There will be 12-hour power interruptions in various parts of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative coverage area on Saturday and Sunday, January 13 and 14, CENECO Acting General Manager Arnel Lapore said Friday.
The maintenance activities will be conducted to ensure stability of distribution lines to avoid further serious damages that will result to major interruptions, he added.
Activities to be undertaken are:
*Preventive maintenance and integrity testing of 30MVA power transformers and related accessories;
*Degassing of 30MVA power transformers, correction of hotspot and secondary cable re-insulation;
*Replacement of rotten primary poles; and
*Tree clearing activities.
To be affected from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday are the Asdes-Gonzaga Feeders (AGF) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and on Saturday the Alijis Feeders (AF) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, Lapore said.
Electricity consumers are advised that in the event of any power interruption, electrical switch/es should be turned-off for safety reasons, Lapore said.
When electricity supply resumes, consumers should provide an allowance of about 10-15 minutes before switching on all electrical appliances and facilities to avoid a power surge, he added.
