Mayor Richard Jaojoco warned Toboso residents on Sunday, September 19, against holding mass gatherings amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in the town in September.
Jaojoco said 11 Toboso residents died from COVID-19 from September 5 to 19 and all were unvaccinated.
Toboso has had about 40 COVID-19 cases in September, he added.
Jaojoco said foot patrol personnel have been tasked to ensure that people at the market go home immediately after they purchase their goods, and not linger in the area, to lessen their chances of being infected with COVID-19.
He also appealed to the public to comply with minimum health protocols.
They have received reports of basketball games and illegal cockfighting being conducted in the town and warned that those caught holding such activities will be arrested.*
