₱748,000 worth of shabu seized in Bacolod buy-bust

More than ₱700,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. 10, Bacolod City, on Tuesday, November 18, the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region reported.

The operation, conducted by the Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit, led to the confiscation of about 110 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱748,000 and the arrest of two alleged drug personalities.

Police identified the suspects as alias “Wen,” 56, of Purok Kabuhi, Brgy. 10, and “Pat,” 37, of Purok Fire, Brgy. 8.

Authorities said the buy-bust stemmed from information from a confidential informant claiming that the suspects were involved in illegal drug activities in several barangays.

After surveillance and coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, operatives set the operation in motion.

Recovered from the suspects were one sachet of suspected shabu used as the buy-bust item, six more sachets, two knot-tied plastic bags of suspected shabu, a marked P1,000 bill, and other items.

The drug evidence was submitted to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Forensic Unit for examination, while non-drug items remain with the CDEU.

Both suspects are detained at Police Station 2 pending the filing of charges.*
