X-Man holds freedom caravan against mandatory vaccination

Protestors on board about 100 vehicles joined a “freedom caravan” in Bacolod City to oppose mandatory COVID-19 vaccination as the nation marked the 36th EDSA People Power Revolution anniversary on Friday, February 25.

“We are fighting for our freedom to choose whether to be vaccinated or not”, lawyer William Mirano of the X-Man group said.

They are not against COVID-19 vaccination, but they are against its being made mandatory, Mirano said, stressing that their rights are protected by the law.

The members of the X-Man group are people from all walks of life advocating for bodily integrity, right to life, freedom of thought, freedom of choice, and such other human rights pertaining to the current COVID-19 pandemic and the vaccination campaign, he said.

Several laws are in place to safeguard these rights, however, it seems that there are powers that be that just override and ignore them, Mirano said.

“We are not antivaxxers, we only seek to protect ourselves, our loved ones and those who hold the same beliefs and do not seek to interfere with the well-thought of decision of others who on the other hand believe that vaccination against COVID-19 works for them,” the X-man mission statement said.

The COVID-19 vaccines are neither safe nor effective, and mandating them violates the Constitution, the statement said.

“The COVID-19 vaccines are still in their experimental stage of development. Forcing experimental vaccines on individuals violates the provisions of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights as well as those of the Nuremberg Code,” it added.

In the Philippines, grave coercion is a crime and some have already filed cases before the prosecutors’ office, Mirano said.

COVID-19 vaccines use aborted fetal tissues in their development, with some using them even in their actual production, the X-Man statement said.

The vaccine card requirement to enter the workplace also violates the law, and RT-PCR testing is harmful, unreliable and can be misused, it added.

“Requiring only the unvaccinated employees to undergo regular RT-PCR testing is discriminatory,” it added.

There are proven alternatives for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19, the statement said.*
